Bali’s best yoga threads, from eco-conscious brands to flowy boho styles
Thanks to its special energy, stress-melting natural vistas, and international Eat, Pray, Love rep, Bali has become a haven for all things yoga. And in the cultural hub of Ubud, yoga style has overtaken island style, with many designers focusing solely on fashions for the mat. But whether you’re in Ubud or Uluwatu, gorgeous yoga threads are never far away. Here are a few of our favourite labels.
Studio K, Ubud and Canggu
Best for: Slinky yoga playsuits
Simple styles and muted tones are the hallmark of Studio K, the organic and ethical yoga wear label by Swedish design duo, Miki and Ricard West. Their stores stock crop tops, leggings, bodysuits, and leotards, all made in Bali using eco-friendly fabrics. Hand-dyed in natural hues, there’s a good selection of styles and materials to choose from, including soft organic cotton and ECONYL®, a nylon made from discarded fishing nets.
Ompure, Ubud
Best for: Flowy yoga lifestyle wear
With a huge collection spanning fishermen-style yoga pants to flowy kaftans and lace dresses, Ompure is all about bohemian flair. Founder and designer Yesheila favours comfy, loose-fitting styles and many of the off-white linen pieces are just as suited to evening get-togethers as getting down to your practice on the mat.
Yinside Yoga, Uluwatu
Best for: Eco-friendly accessories
Yinside Yoga stocks a small but stylish range of island-inspired yoga accessories alongside pretty plant-dyed tops, leggings, and more. From macramé yoga mat bags to cork yoga blocks and mats, everything is locally sourced and made with plant-based materials. Antibacterial and antimicrobial, the bolsters come in a variety of sizes and colours, and are crafted from an ingenious mix of Ramie (derived from grass) and Kapok (a lambswool-like plant fibre).
Indigo Luna, Berawa
Best for: Earthy-toned leggings
Indigo Luna’s yoga wear collection highlights eco-friendly materials, natural plant dyes, and figure-hugging fits. Inspired by Scandinavian simplicity, the range includes leggings, crop tops, and loungewear, with pieces crafted from sustainable fabrics like soft eucalyptus tencil and organic cotton. And those lovely earthy hues are the result of natural dyes, derived from local botanicals like indigo leaves (blue), mango leaves (browns and yellows), and secang wood (reds).
Divine Goddess, Seminyak, Canggu, Berawa
Best for: All things yoga
With a sizeable selection of mats, bags, bolsters, accessories, and yoga wear, Divine Goddess is a one-stop shop for all things yoga. Styles come in all colours and prints, so whether you’re after loud, leopard-print leggings or floral two-pieces, they’ve got you covered. And the lightweight TPE yoga mats, made from recycled plastic, are great for travel.
WE-AR, Seminyak, Canggu, Berawa
Best for: Men’s yoga apparel
Try WE-AR for pared-down yoga and lifestyle wear for men. The loose-fitting styles include casual tanks, tees, pants and shorts — perfect for both practice and chilling.
